Rockford IL: US Soldier Brings The Wars Home - Shoots Up Bowling Alley Kills Random Strangers - 27 Dec 2020

 


The Rockford bowling alley shooting suspect is a Special Forces Assistant Operations and Intelligence Sergeant, Army confirms.

There are six victims. A 73-year-old male, a 65-year old male, and a 69-year-old male were killed in the shooting. The other three victims went to the hospital.

37-year-old Duke Webb, a resident of Florida and active military member is currently being held in the Winnebago County Jail without bond.

Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara gave an emotional statement at the morning press conference, calling for the violence to stop.

“Today with the eyes of the country on us we need to show as Rockfordians how we respond to an incident such as this,” McNamara said. “This isn’t going to be solved simply with enforcement with more officers we’re going to certainly need to have a strong police department but this is also going to be solved as a community.”

What?  How can any community face trained US Army killers?   The mayor's 'emotional' appeal is not directed at the US military in particular.  The mayor is implying that the 'community' somehow has an original sin of 'violence' that must be redeemed.  

Local independent news page says that a witness claims he got in an argument about needing to wear a mask.
